Join in with Miss Quirke. Here is a little game of 'Simon says' using action verbs. 

A verb is an action word. It tells us what someone or something is doing. Here are some examples. 

Can you act out some verbs for your family to guess? e.g. dancing, singing, jumping, swimming, batting. 

 

Now make a verb poster. Draw 3 characters from the story (Jack, Giant, Hen, mother, strange man).
