Art- Friday
African
patterns.
African art
is bursting with patterns and bright colours!
Can you
think of any patterns?
Spots,
lines, dots, spirals, zig zags, crosses, curves and shapes can all become a
form of pattern.
When we
draw a pattern one important element is to repeat the same pattern, this is
called a repeat pattern.
Look at the
photos below can you spot the repeat pattern? Have a go at creating your own
repeat pattern using lots of bright colours.
For example
you might draw a long line of flowers, then a long line of red dots, then a zig
zag. To make this a repeat pattern you would draw a long line of flowers again,
then red dots and then a zig zag.
Keep going
until you have completely filled the whole of your page with pattern and
colour.
Send in
your finished work.
